Trump Just Delayed the Iran Strike Again. Here Are the Two Reasons He Gave — And Why They Matter.

March 26, 2026

Quick little update on President Trump’s threat to “obliterate” Iran’s entire network of power plants if they didn’t immediately open the Strait of Hormuz.

You remember over the weekend he gave Iran 48 hours. Then, they didn’t and on Monday – he gave them five more days. Which then would have put power plant “obliteration” at tomorrow. Yeah well – he just postponed again.

Trump posted to his social media page saying the Iranian government requested a “pause” to what trump calls “energy plant destruction by 10 days. He says the negotiations are ongoing and then he digs at the media and says despite what the media says the talks are going very well.

This is how Trump described the negotiations this morning.

Trump continues to say the US has militarily won this war with Iran. Yet the Strait of Hormuz is still technically closed. So why did trump give Iran 10 more days? He hinted it was because of a “gift” from Iran.

But that was yesterday – so why announce this 10 day deadline postponement today?

Well – the US stock market spent all day in the red. You can see it closed down 470 points. And the global oil market also spent most of the day rising – except of course right after trump announced the 10 day delay. See that dramatic drop in the price of oil? Yeah – that happened just 5 minutes after trump posted this. Oil is still well over 100 -dollars a barrel.
