Move over paper money — the Federal Reserve is talking about creating the digital dollar.
But let’s be very clear – that move is a long way away…*if* it happens at all.
So why are people talking about it today?
Well, because of this. A 40-page long-awaited study of the potential for a digital dollar by the Federal Reserve. That report explored both the pros and cons and laid out how our payment technologies have evolved over time.
The Fed calls it Central Bank Digital Currencies – or CBDCs. And the report took no stance either way about whether creating such currency was “good” or “bad” nor does the report signal the Federal Reserve is about to make any decisions about issuing any of its own CBDCs. In fact, The Fed says it does *not* intend to proceed without clear support from the executive branch and congress ideally in the form of new laws.
But it’s notable that The Fed is opening up the discussion and talking about having “transparent public dialogue” about the possibility. I put the report on my website for you to read and I’ll keep you updated on when those comment forums are open.
Read the report from the Federal Reserve here.

Hope it doesn’t happen. Sound like a great way for an enemy to destroy an economy.
So every single cent can be accounted for and used in Bills that benefit American citizens in no way whatsoever.
My boyfriend who usually has claimed 2 of my biological children for the past 9 years did not recieve the chilld tax credit for them. I just read that I can file for this in the non filers. However, my worry is – will he still be able to file them on 2022 taxes. Or how do we go about this situation?
The non-filers portal is closed. You can no longer use that. If your boyfriend did not receive the monthly payments for your kids (and no one else did either) your boyfriend can claim the kids as he normally does on his 2021 taxes and get the full credit for each of them. As long as he meets the financial qualifications and your kids are the correct ages.
