PART 2: Supreme Court will hear a 2nd student loan forgiveness case

December 14, 2022

This is part two of two big pieces of student loan forgiveness news out today.

Part one is the first piece of news about the student loan forgiveness letters you may have received – if you want to know what that is, go watch that video.

And the second piece of news is that the Supreme Court is going to hear a second case about student loan forgiveness.  I actually told you about this particular case back in November in this video. Two loan borrowers are suing because they didn’t qualify for the full $20,000 of forgiveness and they say the President didn’t allow them to comment on the program before he rolled it out.

This means the Supreme Court will now hear a case brought by student loan borrowers and a case brought by six GOP-led states who sued saying the President overstepped his authority by creating this forgiveness program. Both cases are scheduled to be heard by the Supreme Court in February.
