I’m about to give you two major headlines in one video – just in time for you to start driving for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Headline number one — gas is below three bucks a gallon in several states and headline two — this month the United States pumped more oil in this country than any other month in history.
Now – overall – when you average the gas prices at every gas station in every state in the country according to AAA – a gallon of regular gas in this country today is $3.33. That’s less than yesterday, less than last week, less than last month and 40 cents less than last year.
But I know you want to see where you can find this unicorn gas for less than three bucks a gallon.
According to AAA, all the states that are dark blue are showing the cost for a gallon of regular gas is below $3. The lowest is in Mississippi where gas today is $2.81 a gallon.
If you want to expand it a little more – these light blue states have gas prices that are almost $3 a gallon. All are less than $3.10.
But this obviously isn’t the case everywhere in the US all the states that are pink and red have gas that’s over the national average of $3.33. The most expensive gas in the country – by far – is in California. Where it’s $5.02.
Now – let’s talk about this other massive headline about the US and all the crude oil we’re pumping. Yes – all you “drill baby drill” folks are going to be very interested to hear — for the week ending on November 10th – the United States produced 13.2 million barrels of oil per day. Let me say that again, 13.2 million barrels of oil per day. That is more oil being produced in the United States than at any other point in the last 40 years. And last week wasn’t an anomaly – every week in the month of October – so for four solid weeks – we were pumping 13.2 million barrels of oil a day. Now – besides October of 2023 –the second highest production of oil in the United States was the week of March 13 2020 when we produced 13.1 million barrels a day.
Now – this can always change – especially if this war between Israel and Hamas spills out into the other oil-producing middle east countries – but for the time being – it looks like gas prices in this country are going in the right direction. Down.
