🚨BREAKING🚨House Just Ended the Government Shutdown

February 3, 2026

The partial government shutdown is basically over because the House just passed the same funding bill the Senate passed last week. President Trump is expected to sign it into law shortly.

You notice most of the Democrats voted no – that’s by design…and I’ll tell you more about why they did that in a second…

But first — believe it or not – this was the easy part. The hard part is going to play out very loudly over the next few days weeks. And that’s because the bill that just passed only funds the department of homeland security until February 13th…which is next Friday. That department needs to be funded through the rest of the fiscal year which means through the end of September– like all the other departments. But in order to fully fund DHS – over the next few days democrats and republicans in both the house and the senate and even president trump will have to negotiate over policy changes at homeland security, ICE and customs and border protection.

As I told you in this video last week – Senate Democrats want a lot of changes – especially after what has happened with Trump’s immigration crack down in Minnesota. Senate Democrats want more accountability for federal officers conducting those immigration raids on the streets of America, they want them to be required to wear body cameras – right now they are not, they want the masks to come off — they want them to adhere to the same use of force policies that police officers have to abide by and they want them to go back to the norm – which is using judicial warrants – meaning warrants signed by a judge to enter people’s homes – right now – homeland security’s policy has shifted to only require an administrative warrant.

So real quick – I want to touch on why you saw so many House Democrats vote no on this. Well – part of that is because democrats fundamentally do not agree with the funding levels given to all these government departments – but part of it is also strategic. The House Democrats have said that the deal that got us to this point was cut between Senate Democrats and the white house. House Democrats say they weren’t consulted and they have their own demands. They not only want judicial warrants to be used – they want homeland security to scrap this new policy altogether.
