Vaccine status on dating apps. White House says YES.

Fast Facts for May 21, 2021

It is Friday – you know what that means …heading into the weekend vaxed, waxed and swiping right…

At least that’s what the White House is hoping for (no…not the waxed part) but definitely the vaxed dating app crowd.

The covid 19 task force just announced a partnership with pretty much all the major dating apps to offer incentives for those who have been vaccinated against covid19.

Apps like hinge, tinder, bumble and all these others will be rolling out programs in the that would offer users things like…premium features for free…free “boosts” to profiles of users who have been vaccinated so their profiles will be seen first, offering badges or stickers for vaccinated users and even filters so users – if they want – can filter out those who have not been vaccinated.

The apps will also help you locate your nearest vaccination site.

Now—before you ask – no these companies will not have a system to verify your actual vaccine status. Adding the vaccinated badge to your profile is obviously on the honor system…so for those wanting to add it fraudulently to get more matches… do you really want to start out a new relationship with a lie?

This move is all part of the president’s goal to get 70% of Americans vaccinated by July 4th.

If you use dating apps you should be seeing those features in app in the next few weeks.
