This not important news – but it caught my attention today – so I figured I’d share it with you. During today’s White House event – President Trump was seen wearing a new lapel pin. It initially caught my attention because he normally wears just the American flag pin.
Since the attacks on September 11th – American presidents have customarily worn that American flag pin. Here’s president George W Bush wearing the pin. President Obama wearing the pin, President Trump during his first term – there’s the pin, President Biden…pin and even in Trump’s new portrait it’s blurry – but there’s the pin. This is an important symbol for the American president to wear.
So when a president adds something next to a symbol so important. I take notice. And turns out I wasn’t the only one.
So it is a pin of himself. By the way – I found a similar one on amazon in this bundle – for $9.99. I’m not sure if that figure is necessarily happy with the balled-up fists and the furrowed brow and the angry expression. But that’s how the president characterizes it. I don’t know if he’ll wear it again…but he was definitely wearing it during today’s important meeting with oil executives about the future of Venezuela.
Speaking of pins – that’s not the only pin of Trump floating around Washington DC. There’s also this gold one – of trump’s profile – that I’ve seen Trump administration officials wearing…you can see this guy is wearing it. That is President Trump’s FCC commissioner Brenden Carr who tends to wears it quite a lot.
