It’s a Christmas miracle… or maybe it was the jet fumes calling…
Whatever it is – we are not getting a government shutdown.
That’s because the Senate just passed the same bill the House passed Friday afternoon to keep the government open. You know – the bill I told you all about in this video.
The final vote in the Senate moments ago was 85 to 11. It needed 60 votes to pass.
Now that both the House and the Senate have passed the bill it will go to President Biden’s desk for signature. But that process takes a little time. And while technically the bill was passed 45 minutes after the shutdown deadline, the white house put out a statement saying no agencies would shut down. The White House said Biden will sign the bill on Saturday. That means — when federal workers return to their jobs on Monday things will be back to normal.
It is very important for you to understand – while this chaos is calmed for now – we are going to be right back here …having the exact same fight during Trump’s first 100 days in office. Because the bill passed by both the House and Senate sets up another government shutdown on March 14th 2025.
