Back in 2022 Congress gave the IRS $80 billion over the next 10 years in the Inflation Reduction Act. There were fears by some lawmakers that the money was going towards hiring an “army” of 87,000 IRS agents to come after taxpayers. Well, that money IS now being used to audit more taxpayers, just not the ones you’d expect.
I talked with the Deputy Treasury Secretary to discuss what this money is doing to help average taxpayers, the successes seen so far and what’s in store in the coming months for you.
