Fast Facts for July 22, 2021
For those of you missing your third stimulus check – also known as EIP3 – the IRS just announced as of yesterday 2.2 million payments were issued in the last six weeks.
This is *not* a new stimulus check. This is the third stimulus check that most of you received back in march. This new batch went to people who never received it or received an incorrect amount.
So – who finally got their missing payments?
1.3 million payments went to eligible people for whom the IRS didn’t have information – but finally got it when they processed a recently filed tax return.
Another 900,000 were “plus up” payments issued to people who received EIP3 back in March but it was not the right amount because it was based on 2019 taxes – and when the IRS processed their 2020 return, it was determined more stimulus money was owed. If you want to know more about plus up payments and how they work — go to the tax stuff category on my page, scroll down an you’ll see the video that says plus up payments.
If you are still missing your EIP3 stimulus payment and you weren’t in this batch – don’t stress. The IRS says stimulus payments will be issued – to those who are still owed — every week as they continue to process 2020 tax returns. So make sure yours is filed.
