Today’s the day.
After more than a year — the international travel ban was lifted in the United States. That means air travelers from 33 different countries and travelers crossing the US land borders with Mexico and Canada – come on down.
But you’re going to have to show you’re fully vaccinated against Covid 19 or – you’re going back home.
So, what are the rules?
Important – this does not apply to US citizens. Though all US citizens re-entering the US must provide a negative Covid19 test. If you’re unvaccinated that test must be within one day of your travel.
Now – for all those international travelers traveling by air.
Travelers must show proof of full vaccination against Covid19. That means two weeks after your final dose of an approved or authorized vaccine from either the FDA, world health organization or emergency use listed vaccine.
Travelers must be foreign nationals from 26 Schengen nations in Europe, China, India, South Africa, Iran, Brazil, Britain and Ireland.
In addition to the vaccine proof, travelers coming to the US must show a negative Covid19 PCR or antigen test within 3 days of travel and must provide contact information in case of an outbreak.
There are some vaccine exceptions for certain travelers. The CDC says if you’re under 18 you don’t have to show vaccine proof but you do have to show a negative test within three days of travel. If you show a medical exemption or if you are entering with a valid nonimmigrant visa and are a citizen of a country with limited vaccine availability.
If you are crossing the land border for non-essential reasons, you are required to show proof of vaccination no negative test is required.

Let’s talk about the temporary injunction imposed by the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on the OSHA vaccination or testing requirement for workers at us companies with more than 100 employees by January 4th.
You guys had a lot to say about this over the weekend. So, I’m going to give you three facts you need to know.
First – the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals where this case is being heard is *not* the Supreme Court. It’s not the same thing. *and* the fact is – this isn’t the only appellate court with a pending case like this. The 5th Circuit is just one of six appellate courts with similar challenges from more than 25 different states and lots of private companies and unions.
Second – the 5th Circuit Appellate Court three-judge panel has issued a *temporary* injunction on implementation of this osha emergency temporary standard. That does *not* mean it’s “thrown out”. An injunction means, a judge has put a pause on implementation of this rule until the case can be litigated and a ruling is made. Now here’s where it gets complicated. When several petitioners are challenging the same rule in several circuits, the cases are ultimately consolidated in one circuit through a process known as the “multi-circuit lottery.”
Under that system, broadly speaking, a petitioner who files a case within the first 10 days of the issuance of an osha rule and follows certain procedural steps gets its circuit entered into the lottery.
After 10 days, the judicial panel — based in Washington, DC — conducts a blind lottery and chooses a circuit at random to ultimately hear the case.
Once the circuit is chosen, all the cases challenging a rule are transferred to it.

In this case – I did that immediately as the news broke on Saturday. But to be fair – I also told you this was going to happen. Not once.
But twice.
So what does this mean for you? I know you don’t want to hear this. But we all have to wait. It’s that simple.
