Hunter Biden will be indicted by the end of this month.
At least that’s the plan.
That’s according to this document filed in federal court today by special counsel David Weiss. Weiss is the Trump appointed us attorney, turned special counsel who has been investigating the president’s son for the last five years.
The short three-page document is a status report to the federal court in Delaware. It outlines how Hunter Biden and his lawyers had reached a deal with Weiss involving a gun possession charge and tax related charges that would have allowed Biden to avoid prosecution if he met certain conditions over a 24 month period. But as you know that deal fell apart.
And now, we’re here. The special counsel says the law requires the government to get a grand jury indictment by Friday, September 29th and “the government intends to seek the return of an indictment in this case before that date.” The document does not say specifically which crimes may be charged.
