The House of Representatives is scheduled to put the Inflation Reduction Act up for a vote tomorrow (Friday.)
This bill passed the Senate last week with only Democrat votes after a marathon 16 hours of debate. The Senate Democrats only needed a simple majority vote to pass the legislation through the budget reconciliation process. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is also the President of the Senate, cast the tie-breaking vote on Sunday.
This bill is likely to pass the House and is considered to be the largest investment in climate provisions in US history. It also has provisions to allow Medicare to finally negotiate drug prices.
