The Biden administration can continue to communicate and coordinate with social media companies – for now.
So says the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
This puts on hold a temporary injunction – that I told you about in this video – which would have banned the US government from coordinating or even communicating with social media companies when it comes to “protected speech” issues. A federal judge in Louisiana said those efforts were targeting conservative voices specifically. That temporary injunction would have stopped all kinds of federal agencies, departments and individuals from communicating with, emailing, or coordinating with any social media company.
The government argued that shutting down the communication and coordination was a danger to national security and thwarted attempts to protect the upcoming election and to stop criminal activity.
Today – the conservative 5th Circuit agreed saying the temporary injunction will be lifted until they can have a hearing to weigh the facts.
