One signature away from a vote on the house floor that would force the release of the Epstein and Maxwell files to the congress and ultimately to you.
The discharge petition that is being sponsored by Representatives Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna just got one more signature. That brings the total to 217. The petition only needs 218 to override the Speaker of the House.
So where did this magic new signature come from?
Well – it wasn’t a republican. There are still only four Republicans who have signed on.
This new signature came from a brand new democrat who was just sworn into office yesterday. James Walkinshaw of Virginia was sworn in after winning a landslide special election to fill the seat of Representative Gerry Connolly who passed away this year. During his campaign Walkinshaw said he would sign this Massie/Khanna discharge petition on day one. And that’s exactly what he did.
That’s how we got to 217.
Now – here’s where things get interesting. There are currently three seats that are vacant in the House of Representatives. Two are Democratic seats and one is a Republican seat. On September 23rd – in just a few weeks — there will be a special election in Arizona to fill one of those democratic seats. So in theory – if a Democrat wins that seat – which is very likely – that new Democrat will be sworn in and will probably sign this discharge petition too. And boom – there’s 218 signatures.
Now – this is politics. Anything can happen so I never count my chickens before they hatch. It’s also still possible another republican will sign on between now and then. But if not – its possible that by the end of this month – if a democrat does in fact win that vacant seat in Arizona – we could see a successful discharge petition on these Epstein files.
