First public Biden Impeachment Inquiry hearing next week

September 19, 2023

The first public hearing of the House Impeachment Inquiry into President Joe Biden is happening next week.

The House Oversight Committee Chairman said the hearing will focus on constitutional and legal questions surrounding the President and his actions. He plans to subpoena the personal and business bank records of President Biden’s son Hunter and his brother James at some point this week.

The hearing will also have witnesses testify about financial crimes, tax evasion racketeering and the Foreign Agent Registration Act. Though – there is no hard evidence the president engaged in any of those things.

As I told you in this video last week, an Impeachment Inquiry is not the same as an Impeachment. The inquiry is basically used to investigate allegations and see if there’s proof to back up suspicions. So in this case, the House Republicans have these suspicions, but no proof – so they’re using this inquiry to pull those threads and see if they can dig any up.

This hearing is scheduled for next Thursday, but that’s just one day before a scheduled government shutdown. The White House in response to this hearing being announced said, house republicans were staging a “political stunt” to distract from their failure to fund the government.
