Guys – it’s election day and we need to sit down and have a conversation about patience. We all have to be patient when it comes to election results tonight –in the coming days and yes possibly weeks. I’ll explain why in a second.
I’ve already done several videos about how votes are counted differently in every single state. But the fact is you’ve never know who the official winner is on election night. You’ve known the projected winner on election night because it takes every state weeks to certify the official results. Please go watch those videos if you have more questions.
But when it comes to tonight – you need to understand — you’re going to get vote totals from some states faster than others. It’s not a conspiracy it’s just logic.
Timing of election results comes down to four main thing.
One – when polls close and what are the state rules for when the count can begin. Two how tight are the races? Three – how long will it take county election officials to verify and double check mail in and absentee ballots — and four – will there be recounts or lawsuits.
And guess what, we already know so many races across the country are so tight it’s going to take a very long time to count those ballots. Not to mention all the lawsuits that have already been filed in several states challenging these results.
Now to why final results in some states may take days or weeks. Again, tight races, lawsuits, recounts and at least in the state of Georgia – the rule that says no candidate can win unless that candidate reaches 50 percent of the vote plus one. If no candidate hits that number, there’s run off on December 6th . That’s weeks away.
