Fast Facts for April 15, 2021
I know you’ve probably heard a lot of noise today about a bill from several house democrats that would add four additional justices to the supreme court.
But! It is important to understand the house speaker Nancy Pelosi said she will *not* allow that bill to even come to the floor and she didn’t give her full support of the idea either.
She said – it’s not out of the question and it’s worth studying and instead — she supports the president’s executive order to explore several issues involving SCOTUS.

You’re probably asking – how can Pelosi do that?
The answer is – she’s the house speaker deciding the agenda and what bills come to the floor of the house of representatives is at her sole decision. That’s the power that comes with that office.
Even after the presidential commission is complete and *if* the bill somehow manages to make it to the floor – that’s a realllllllly tough battle to pass in both the house and senate. Especially with the democrat’s super slim majority in both chambers and currently – not all democrats on board with the idea.
