Attorney General Pam Bondi was supposed to brief Republican and Democrat members of the House Oversight committee tonight about her handling of the Epstein files….except it appears that briefing went off the rails pretty fast.
The format was supposed to be a briefing by the AG Pam Bondi and her deputy attorney general Todd Blanche to members of the Oversight committee. The attorney general said she’s already done everything she can on the Epstein stuff.
Democrats said they wanted C-Span in this “briefing” because according to them – it wasn’t a briefing at all. And after chairman James Comer told Rep. Summer Lee she was bitching, Democrats walked out.
Chairman Comer praised attorney general Pam Bondi repeatedly for taking the time to come in and talk to his committee….even though it was not under oath and it was not recorded and the public will never see it. Comer doesn’t see what’s wrong with that. And while we’re at it – he doesn’t think the subpoena he just issued for Bondi to testify under oath in a setting where we *will* get to hear what she says is necessary either.
Democrats are convinced that Bondi isn’t going to comply with that subpoena.
Comer takes issue with that whole coverup narrative.
We will have to see if AG Bondi shows up to her deposition on April 14th. And if she doesn’t, we’ll have to see if Chairman Comer holds her in contempt of Congress the same way he did when the Clintons threatened not to show up for their Epstein depositions.
