Four Democrats Back Trump on Iran Military Action | What It Means

March 5, 2026

The House of Representatives just decided not to limit President Trump’s ability to continue this military operation in Iran.

That’s because the house just voted down a war powers resolution.

The final vote was 212 to 219. Two Republicans crossed party lines and joined 210 Democrats to limit Trump and 4 Democrats joined 215 Republicans to not limit trump. One Republican did not vote.

Just so we’re clear – the war powers resolution if it had passed limits when a president can send members of the US military into hostile situations it also requires congress to be informed *before* the military is sent and it requires the president to get explicit congressional authorization if the military operation last longer than 30 days.

But as I just said the house rejected that. Just like the Senate did yesterday.

But as I reported in this video yesterday – in the more than 50 years the war powers act has been around no president – neither Democrat or Republican has really believed it is constitutional. In fact most presidents believe that law infringes on the constitutional authority of the president as the commander in chief. So while it’s true this war powers resolution failed – it is a good gage of how your house representative and how your senator feels about what’s happening in Iran.

They either support it for whatever reason – or the don’t support it for whatever reason. And now you can see exactly how your Representative and Senator feels and that might be important information to have during the midterm election.
