There are a lot of people talking about last night’s Republican Presidential primary debate. But I’m less interested in what they had to say and more interested in what viewers were thinking.
And a pretty good way to do that is to look at what they were Googling during the debate. Now – it’s important to know this data doesn’t necessarily mean this is how someone is going to vote, but it interesting to see exactly what subjects they were curious about.
Here is a real time graph during the debate of searches based on candidates names.
You can see from the start of the debate till well after the debate Vivek Ramaswamy was number one. Donald Trump and Nikki Haley were going back and forth between number two and three.
According to Google, the debate was the top trending topic on all of Google search during the broadcast. Interestingly enough – people were also really interested in how tall the candidates are. The top trending candidate search for “how tall is…” ranked in order.
Number 5 Vivek Ramaswamy
Number 4 – how tall is Tim Scott
Number 3 – how tall is Chris Christie
Number 2 Mike Pence and number one – how tall is Ron DeSantis.
The top issue being searched during the debate was inflation, followed by immigration and abortion. But economy, climate change, Ukraine and crime were also among the top searches for “Republicans and…”
