The Federal Reserve just announced they are leaving interest rates unchanged.
This is significant because this is the first official act of President Trump’s new Federal Reserve chairman, Kevin Warsh.
He did not cut interest rates as President Trump wanted, but also did not raise them even though new reports from Trump’s own government show inflation is going in the wrong direction — up.
That means interest rates will stay at 3.5% to 3.75%.
We will hear directly from Trump’s new Fed chair very soon, and that is going to be a very interesting press conference.
We’re expecting to hear all about the changes Chairman Warsh wants to bring to the Federal Reserve.
I’ll let you know exactly what he says later today.
Read the statement here.
