January 13, 2023 – Free file opens
January 23, 2023 – IRS begins accepting tax returns
February 28, 2023 – First available refunds for those claiming the EITC
April 18, 2023 – Taxes due (for most) (April 15 falls on a holiday)
May 15, 2023 – Taxes & payments due for California storm victims (recently extended)
October 16, 2023 – Tax extension deadline
