If you are one of the millions of Americans who qualify – you’re about to get your second monthly child tax credit payment tomorrow.
That means either $250 or $300 per qualified child hitting bank accounts or by going out by paper check on August 13.
Yes – I know normally the child tax credit monthly payments usually comes out on the 15th of the month, but because the 15th falls on a Sunday, the IRS is issuing the payment on Friday.
At this point you are still unable to make certain changes on the child tax credit portal. You still can’t change your address – even though that feature was expected to roll out in august. You also still can’t make changes to your dependents, marital status and income or re-enroll if you previously unenrolled. That’s supposed to happen in late summer.
Generally, if you and your kids qualify for these monthly payments you don’t have to do anything.
