Well – it looks like he’s not going to be approving anything anytime soon – because the Save America Act does not have the votes to pass in the Senate nor is there the support to bring back the talking filibuster. And that’s not my opinion..that’s what the republican senate majority leader just said.
Of course originally the way the Save America act was passed out of the House it required two main things — not only voter ID when you go to the polls but also proof of citizenship not proof of identity – but proof of citizenship before you can even register to vote. That was already not going to get through the senate because you need 60 votes which means at least 7 democrats would have to also vote yes. Which they wouldn’t do – for all the reasons I’ve reported in all the other videos I’ve made about this legislation.
But on top of that President Trump keeps adding things to the bill.
Yeah – all those extras – getting rid of mail in ballots and the other two which are completely unrelated to voting – that’s all making it harder for Senate Majority Leader John Thune.
So what’s going to happen? Well – the Save America act has already been passed out of the House. Now President Trump said he wants House Speaker Mike Johnson to vote again on a new Save America Act with those added three provisions. And then if that can pass out of the House it will go to the Senate and Senator Thune said he will put it up for a vote but…
