That was the palm beach county sheriff a short time ago during a briefing about what the law enforcement is calling an apparent assassination attempt on former President Trump during a round of golf yesterday.
Lots of lawmakers have been questioning how this could be happening again after the other assassination attempt trump faced at a rally in butler Pennsylvania just two months ago.
Today the secret service acting director says this time was much different. He said the suspect in this case was not able to fire one shot, and in fact — he never had trump in his line of sight because of Trump’s new enhanced security detail and the quick action of one secret service agent who was sweeping the area before trump arrived.
But that certainly does not mean mission accomplished. The acting secret service director says there is a heighten threat environment right now so the way the service operates needs to change.
But to do that – it’s going to take more people and resources.
Today – President Biden says congress – which is in charge of the money – needs to give the secret service whatever it wants.
